I usually raise the flop here, but your line seems fine. I'd definitely fold when it's 3-bet back to me on the turn.

Thought about popping the flop but figured it was a wa/wb hand and I was resigned to call down till the river untill the turn paired. Once the turn paired the A, I thought a raise would knock out some hands that I was behind like 88-KK or at least give me a free showdown against them.

This is a situation where I think you are losing the majority of the time on the flop. I will probably bail on the flop unless I'm playing a super LAG or maniac. I don't think many players are 3-betting with 55 or smaller PP here & I don't think many players are 3-betting any hand here w/o an A aside from perhaps KQs. I personally feel you don't win this hand often enough to call a flop bet. Anyone care to offer something different?

Even though my raise looks like a blind steal? I did consider the possibilty of folding the flop as well

I'm lost here. Why would you want to do a free showdown play here? A hand that beats you will 3-Bet you, a tricky player will 3-bet you with nothing, and a worse hand will fold to your reraise.

b/c I might get to fold hands like 99-KK as well as hands that have 6 outs against me and have odds to call me on the turn. If a tricky player is willing to 3 bet a worse hand, then I hand it to him b/c he's got the balls to make that play.

What is the purpose of these fancy plays at $3/6? They are unnecessary, just play solid poker and that will get the money.

Looks more like a bluff than a free SD raise to me. I dont think you will be ahead ever if you get called.

I usually let go on the flop here.

I don't like a flop raise, because I don't think his reactions are going to be very honest. What information do we get raising the flop?

I like calling the flop, raising ANY turn, and checking through the river.

I thought it was a solid poker play. If I call the turn, I've gotta call a river bet. If he checks the river, I think I've gotta value bet it. The net cost is 2 BBs either way witht the advantage of folding some hands I'm behind or slightly ahead of.

I think tossing the flop might have been the best course of action
