Grandmaster Flash - The Message

I don't really know exactly what to consider "old school", but maybe pre 1990?

pistol grip pump - volume 10

may not be the best, but this guy is way ahead of his time in terms of his style/delivery/rhythm for the time period of his release.

be forewarned, all the covers by RATM and Ice cube suck.

edit: lemme double check on this date.. it may be 91.

Yeah, I don't know if this is really considered "old school" rap, but as far as the old school ganster type rap, this song owns everything.

How old is this song? I always assumed they were just like a De La Soul type group and this song hasn't been around for that long.

Haha this song is in a bodyboarding video I own and its awsome.

'94 I think. If that's not old enough, then consider it stricken. It's certainly not '84 like Jam On It or Rock Box.

So many Ultramagnetic MC's songs to choose from.... but I'll go with 'Ease Back' or the 'Bait' remix.
