If you like them, get it.
If not, get it anyway.
You'll thank me later.

They are the winningest band to listen to.

Grabbing it now, thanks for the reminder... I heard a track from it on their website a couple weeks ago, and it was incredibly epic and fantastic.

And, yeah, Dream Theater is the balls.

Thats "Welcome Home" and if you like it, you'll literally cream yourself over the full album.

Yeah just finished with that, on track 4 now and loving every minute. Great call on this, does their back catalog have a similar sound? I'm hitting the record store later to pick up the new Opeth (which is great as well, not sure if your familiar with them, but it's very good progressive metal as long as you can get past some of the death vocals), and I think I may have to grab some of these guys as well...

Both their previous albums kick copious amounts of ass. It sounds like you're into more heavier stuff, so I'd get In Keeping Secrets...

Second Stage... is good and all, its just a little poppier than the rest. In Keeping is awesome, really good epic songs. Download the title track, you wont regret it.

And opeth rule too /images/graemlins/grin.gif
You like tool?

I can get into heavy stuff, but I actually think I prefer it less heavy. However, I do love Tool (especially Undertow,) hard to get much better than them. I have a hell of a reccomendation for you now, not sure if you've heard of them before, but Pain of Salvation.

If you love Opeth, Tool, and this stuff, you'll undoubtedly love Pain of Salvation. It's a bit complex at times and some songs can take a few listens to get into, but there aren't many better bands out there today. I'd highly reccommend The Perfect Element pt I, but all of their albums are great.

Alright I'm about 3 spins deep and probably not done for the day. After 3 listens I allow myself to pass judgement, so I'm ready to call "The Willing Well I - Fuel for the Feeding End" the best track on the album. It's subject to change, but I don't see it happening easily... Great song.

Everyone else's favorites?

Awesome, they're not at all big here in the UK. Didn't know they were so mainstream across the pond!

worst band of the past ten years. Is the lead singer even human?

I gave them a shot a few months ago and they reminded me strongly of Rush. I [censored] hate Rush.

Did I get the wrong impression?
