What is your read on MP? I know he is probably new due to him posting but anything from previous sessions? If he leans on the weak side perhaps you should bet the turn? As far as the river goes I start to see that he may have 86 right at the cap, no sooner so I don't see your play as too bad.

With the knowledge you've given me, I have to say that your flop and turn checks are mistakes.

I'd bet the turn. You don't mind a call since you've got a little bit of equity for the river, but you are very likely (given villain's passivity on the flop) to take it down right here.

The rest is standard. I guess he had 68, 46, or 77?

I think you need to bet the turn some, but not all, of the time.

You realize MP posted, checked preflop, then checked the flop? Why wouldn't you bet the turn?

At least bet the flop around 30% of the time here (with this pot size). Regardless of whether you bet the flop, if he is still around when you pick up an open ended straight draw, you should be betting the turn a lot too. Anyways once you get the 2nd nut straight, the cap on the river is nice.

Yeah, I should say most, but not all, of the time. My reason is: you are semi-bluffing into a tiny pot. And it looks like what it is. Also, I really like checking hands down sometimes. I don't know why, I just do, and this seems like a good opportunity. It's like "Hi, welcome to the table." Sometimes it's useful to make people comfortable before you attack them. This may sound foolish but it's what goes through my head in this situation.
