If I was raising with that hand PF, which I likely would have, I would have raised more. Like $2200 to $2400 depending on the antes. What were you trying to accomplish with your PF raise?

That small raise was a mistake. I thought I had slid it up to 3600, but I just hit the raise button.

Easy call when you spike a set. Don't min bet.

Preflop minraises are not good raise it up more like the others said.

What exactly is your plan with the flop call, to hit your 2 outer?

Raise or fold on the flop, the call is very bad.

Unless the limper has been a tricky player there is nothing to make you think that you don't have the best hand. So I can't imagine folding here.

Assuming that you're up against the limper only, you do NOT have odds to play just for set value. So you can't just call here and hope to hit a set. You can call and hope to either play a set or outplay your opponent on the flop, but there has to be some other way you can win then a set. Additionally, if you call you are faced with the possibility of playing this hand 3 or 4 handed which might be tough. So if you're going to play, I don't like calling (which is obviously not what you did but I'm trying to address each of the options).

You are the big stack at the table and need to use those chips with the correct amount of aggression. Put people at a test. Are they willing to risk their stack on the hand they hold? That, plus the fact that you probably have the best hand right now means I'd want to raise (which you did). But how much?

Definitely not a mini-raise. There is never, ever, ever a correct time to mini-raise after a limper (and rarely even if there are no limpers). You need to raise here to win the pot pre-flop or at least get heads up with position. And a mini-raise will do neither.

If not for the SB, I'd be inclined to push here and put serious pressure on the limper. But with the SB or BB having a big stack I wouldn't want to risk so much if either wakes up with a monster. So I'd raise to around 2500. That also looks like a hand that we don't mind action with and if the SB or BB has a good but not great hand either might just fold and allow us to get heads up.

But once you make that big of a raise, you are committed to the pot if you're just up against the limper. So if others fold but he calls, you're getting your chips into the pot on the flop either by calling him or pushing.

So in sum, raise it up to 2500. Hope to get heads up. Commit the rest of your chips on the flop.

P.S. The way you played it you need to fold or raise the flop. Calling is not an option.

Thanks for the responses. This is definitely a leak with me. I am never sure how much to raise or reraise or which hands to push or not to push.

I knew you guys would get me for the min raise, but that was a mistake. I thought I had slid that bar up to 3600. I didn't check and just hit the raise button only putting in the minimum raise.

Any resources out there that will help me with this?

Appriciate all the comments!
