Are most of the players on Pokerstars in Europe? I wonder, as all the WCOOP tournaments are scheduled to start in the afternoon EDT, practically guaranteeing that those of us in the U.S. will be at work. Does anybody know why they scheduled these so early in the day?

they take a super long time. even stars' weekly 500k tourney starts at 4.30 pm and usually ends at around 12-1am. if they started them at 6.30pm ET, and you harbor hopes of staying deep into the tourney, you'd be playing till 3-4am. Even 4 hr tourneys are draining.

These tourneys will take much longer than usual Sunday $200 because of 30 minutes intervals. Plus Stars does have a lot of Europeans playing.

They are anything but crapshoots.

If they started at midnight in Europe and ended at 10 AM, that wouldn't go over well. The way they do it, they have fairly reasonable start and finish times for east and west coast US and Europe. A reasonable percentage of the people in these play poker full time, so they don't have to worry about conflicts with work.

>so they don't have to worry about conflicts with work.

especially for tournaments with over million dollars award pools. Makes sense to skip work when you play those.
