View Full Version : Are the 5/10 tables awful right now? or is it just me

I assumed if anything, the good players would be migrating away and the clueless players would be staying...

I dont think i've ever had such a hard time finding a decent table.

Am I imagining things?

it's true, the vpip are way lower than they used to be (even a month ago) and the pot averages are much lower..but, it's still quite profitable.

All the fish are heading to the beach to enjoy the three day weekend and the last days of summer.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

Do you mean now? Just this instant? That's an unreasonable question.

If you mean have they been trending down, I haven't noticed it.

I thought the games were rather juicy today, although somewhat tougher lately. If you are talking about, "since the big rake hike" then, as far as I could tell today, I thought the games were good. But, just a few days ago, I was having trouble finding good games and went to 10/20 on half my tables b/c the games were better there.

DCWGaming

I dont see why its an unreasonable question...

There was just a major rake change, and now (today now) I'm noticing a major game quality change...

Probably its just coincidence but there could be a correlation.

not in 1 day though. the fish who make the games good likely won't even notice the change in rake.

There can't be a correlation. If anything the games should be better.

Yea, the famous Lesbo-Good poker game correlation.

gila

and oh yea, I am not a lesbo, nor a girl, nor gay; just comfortable and somewhat scattered. I was just messing with ya, trying to stablize the transgressions (the exceeding of due bounds or limits).

But if there is this L/GPG correlation, I may be able to switch some things. (but it could be ugly)

Why are you still in a public thread.

PMs exist, use them.

09-02-2005, 04:59 PM
I just find it hillarious you make fun of people at 5/10 when you yourself can't even make it at 10/20 or higher.

Quite hilarious that i had 1 slip (actually i've had 1 or 2 others, but i wasnt taddled on) over 130+ hours of play.

Damn, that really is rare.

and mkf - the fact that you left out my apology, which I added PROMPTLY after the slip, shows there is obviously some bias in you. Leave the drama off of the public forums and quit hijacking my thread which has nothing to do with it. K?

Perhaps because berating you publicly may have positive effects similar to those that you seem to believe berating players publicly at the tables has? /images/graemlins/confused.gif

You kids really are relentless.

This slip was minor at most. And you take it upon yourselves to hijack my thread.

This is absolutely ridiculous.

Take your bias elsewhere, I will not be adding one more reply or reading yours.

Yes because since a fish really has no clue how to play the game or the fact that u should occassionally pay attention to what your opponent may have...they have paid attention to the rake and vacated the premises. Because giving away money w/ a lower rake was much tougher than giving money away w/ a higher rake and have decided to take their investing elsewhere.

I just personally tested these tables out, and can 100% proof-positive certify that they are very, very good.

MicroBob

small sample, 2 random tables opened (5/10) and I'm still playing on both:

opponents include:
table 1 = 58/37, 56/3
table 2 = 52/30, 44/2

RunDownHouse

All this talk of how tough the 5/10 tables have gotten prompts me to ask...

Are the 3/6 actually tougher? Aside from anectdotal evidence I've heard, I seem to have a somewhat hard time finding a table with 2 >45% VPIP players at 3/6. This means I should just jump to 5/10, right?

If you have the bankroll, you should move there anyway.

The reason DCW is upset is that this was already brought up in a different thread.
He defended his table-berating as 'strategy' that actually puts his opponents on tilt. Something like that anyway.

Obviously most of the HUSH forum agrees with your advice though...but DCW doesn't seem interested in changing.

This strikes me as odd.
I don't even put my name on ANY wait-lists or anything...and every time I've played 3/6 6-max (every once in awhile over the past few weeks) and just go to the first open-table I almost ALWAYS have at least 1 fish and usually 2.

Maybe I was only playing the 3/6 on the weekends or something (don't recall)...

Right now I'm playing 3 tables...all of which were just the 'first-available'

5/10 table 1 opponents = 75/0, 67/40 (also an 86/0 with only 7 hands who looks promising). Unfortunately, the 67/40 finally busted-out. Hoping he re-buys.

5/10 table 2 = 56/24, 44/6, 39/8

10/20 table = 68/2, 48/11

Again, Ive practived ZERO table-selection today. Just hanging out on the first tables I got taken to.

(update - oh happy day. the fish did indeed re-buy...and the new guy is now 80/0 after 20 hands so has convinced me of his fishyness)
