a 50+5 MTT final table hand (like to get STTF opinions)

Okay push? Everyone has been playing tight so far. I have only shown down AQ an orbit ago. I hated myself after this push because I'm pushing into the chipleader (Baddbo), but I have ~9BB.

This would be an auto- allin on a STT assuming a tightish range for the big stack (nothing he had done told me otherwise). Does the same principle exist in a very top heavy payout MTT structure?

In retrospect, it was such a marginal all-in, and since big stacks tend to loosen up compared to medium stack, I should have either completed or folded.

This depends a lot on the payout structure and on your read on the chip leader. If the next jump in payout is significant, you should wait for the incredibly short stack to go out before making a move like this. If chip leader's calling range is wide, this is an obvious fold.

I would let this one go because you aren't desperate, SB raises don't get much respect (for obvious reasons) and the shorty is so short.

You're right that this is an easy STT push, as your cards are likely to run well hot and cold here.

But you're not looking at this from the right perspective. usually in an STT, if you've got ~9BBs, then you need to be aggressive. But in this instance, of the 9 remaining players, 4 are still below you in terms of chip stack size, and 1 is pretty much your equal. So, essentially, you're about the 4th largest stack. Thinking in these terms, would this change your decision?

BTW, not much equity transfer is lost by giving your SB to the bigstack here. And except for Seat 4, this would not be true against any of the other stacks.
