AA scary river ($100 6-max)

villain is very loose and very aggressive preflop (80/25) and medium aggressive postflop.

is a blocking bet a better idea on this river? i felt like i wasn't ahead of anything and a blocking bet would just be losing more money than necessary. check and call his bet? my river play just feels so weak-tight.

with aces, it is probably a good laydown, the board is heavy with everything and it seems like you are probably beat,

On the other hand, by checking on the river after all the betting, he can obviously see the river is a scary card and bluff at you.

however, to prevent people from hijacking a pot like that off you, you should probably lay out a block bet, bet a fair amount that you would be willing to call and see what he does.

the preflop raise was actually to $4, converter didn't make that clear. If I were gonna make a blocking bet it would've been $25.

i agree with amoeba, your preflop raise should be bigger with large stacks that they are. any hand could play and destack your AA if they hit 2 pair..

and about the blockbet.. i dont know 1/3 to 1/2 pot maybe will look like value bet by the hero. but probably wouldnt work with such a crazy board.

I think thats about the worst river card for you. even JT made it.

anyways, yeah I guess 25 works. its really only neccesary if this guy is capable of bluffing a larger amount here. IF he is not capable of bluffing, check fold works fine.
