"Young intelligent good player" in this 5/25 Stud game with ante 2 and low-card 3.
On 7th,"The Bull" completes his Str. and puts his opponent on 2 pairs.
"The Bull" fires away 1 BB.
His opponent hesitates for awhile and thinks, and thinks,and...
"The Bull suspects that the "young man" is looking for a "tell". He was sort of eye-balling "The Bull".
Assuming this player is knowledgeable about Caro's tells,is there anything "The Bull" can do to encourage his opponent to call the last bet?? /forums/images/icons/cool.gif
Just wondering, /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

Short of needling him by saying something like "I think my pair is bigger then your pair" I don't think so.

If you want to get called, all you have to do is say something. Anything. If you don't want him to call, just sit there real quiet.

I've read Caro's Book on Tells several times, but I've only found a couple of these tells to be prevalent in the 1/5-5/10 games I typically play. One I see all the time is someone staring me down on the river when I'm high (indicates weakness - they don't want you to bet). I've been able to make a lot of value bets here that I may not have normally made. You wanted to give off a reverse tell, so staring down a knowledgeable opponent might induce a call - even though you led on the river, I think this still applies

I doubt it . Shuffle around in your seat and nerviously figet with you chips might do a better job. Or try shuffling your chips but fumbling them is also a good way to get that call.

So were you asking advice or were you giving a quiz?

ways of inducing a call other then what I already know.
Your advice in "talking to your opponent" is an alternative. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

After using a reverse tell of eye-balling my opponent,he called and my Str. took it down.
