I want to know a. if I played this hand relatively well or not, and b. who calls this river bet. I assume most people will tell me I should have bet more on the turn but I kind of wanted to keep hands with J high kicker in. Any advice is appreciated.

Call.

edit: He's bluffing the flush often enough here, I think. You're getting like 3:1.

Reraise more preflop. I'd make it like $4.50 to go.

Bet more on the flop (I'd probably pot it).

As played, pretty easy fold to the river all-in, IMO.

bet $25 on turn makes the river VERY EASY with any non jack

fwiw, in this hand I beat him into the pot

Also, make it $4 to go pf

I folded on the river but let him know I was folding KK. He showed me AJ. Its my fault I suppose for not raising more pretty much the whole way but I was hoping to catch a hand like AJ in and thought that pot sized bets might scare him away.

these results don't matter . . .you should have called, by not calling you lose money.

I disagree. Perhaps if I had played the hand better then yes. But as I played it, what hands would he have been calling me with and then push with that I beat? IMO hands like K-J Q-J, 10-J, would check the river. I put him on AA, lower trips or A-J.

I'm quite certain on that board you would have heard from trips and or AA before the river. Most likely you would hear from AJ too.

You underestimate the time he's bluffing his flush draw or bluffing a jack here with the scare card. Also given your logic he checks behind with the ace of spades if he hits just one pair. Obviously the hand would be easier to play if you bet $25 on the turn but you didn't.

If you can constantly fold this river in this game against this type of player you are losing money. .I promise you.

If he has A/images/graemlins/spade.gifx/images/graemlins/spade.gif and is a decent player, he checks here always. This river is either AJ, some other two pair or xx/images/graemlins/spade.gif.

so you underbet to keep AJ in then you fold on the river getting like 3 to 1?

seems counterintuitive.

and reraise more preflop.
