what other onboard features does it have?
wireless?
10/100?
unless you can get the warranty information and transfer all that kinda stuff over unless your very computer literate i wouldnt buy a used laptop, too much can go wrong.

Not a huge amount... have a look on eBay for recent completed auctions. I'd be surprised if over $300.

I think 300 is a little low, bout 600 sounds about right.
the problem with laptops and computers in general is the prices go down while the speed goes up. I spend $200 on the mobo i have and 6 months later you can get it for 58 on newegg, pissed me off too.
i wouldnt pay more than 600.

You must be joking... This would be like $1200-1500 new from Dell with a good coupon.
You'd look like a huge douche if you offered $300, and he'd laugh in your face (unless he stole it).
If there's a warranty and stuff, you could pay more. This is a good laptop. Buy it for under $1k (offer him 750 or so to start), get 2gb of RAM from newegg for $200, and be happy.
I configured a 9300 with the same specs (except for a 1.73 Centrino instead of a 1.6) and the price was 2100 with no coupons and no warranty.
I know it's used, but damn, it's far from shitty.

if you had the manufacturer and model # you could get a very close approximate value of it. but id say 600-900

yes, it is. i should have included that but forget too.
it's another 2+2er's and he said he bought it to play at his friends house's but they moved away and he's rarely used it.
he said "name your price" so i'll throw the $750 at him and see what he says.
