How often you have 50-100 BB daily downswings?

In last week I had 3 daily downswings 50bb+ swings within 400 hands each one, now I had 100 bb down swing within 250 hands..
I play 20 40 and 30 60 mostly.

Does anyone swing like that?

Seriously, though, I think I've had 2-3 100+ BB downswings in my 50,000 hands at 10/20 SH. On top of that, 50+ downswings seem to occur with semi-regularity.


(I've yet to experience one of those 200+ BB downswings that I read about - so perhaps I run g00t).

Pretty much the whole month I have sat down feeling fresh and relaxed. I usually play on the conservative side at the start of a session. Bet everyday I have dropped 50-100BB straight away. I then play tilting/break-even poker for the rest of the session.

Normally 50BB swings are totally expected. A 100BB swing would be a weekly occurence perhaps. Although this is a complete guess....

I just had my *first* 100BB upswing in a month so hopefully things are looking up....

I'm not sure if this is something wrong with me, like I'm just not in the right frame of mind at the start of a session or something, but I sure seem to get drawn out on a lot more at the start of the day...

Ty for responses. I have kind of same thing, I usually drop the 50bb very fast, and then have to grind couple of hours to get back up hehe.
Good thing is this kind of swings teach you some emo-control, before I would have got made and start doubting my skills after every downswing. Now my reaction is more like "Aha"



As well I have seen something sickening in the past 8 days, regarding my database the guy who at least once was told to be the best internet player(Erik Sagstrom) have lost over 300bb($200k) in last couple of thousand hands I have on this database..... Amazing how he just reloads $30k every time after he gets busted like nothing has happened /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Chalk me up as another one to seemingly start every session in the hole. Frustrating, to say the least. I think part of the problem is amplified by immediately going to three tables...maybe I need to ease in a bit more.

I went about 40,000 hands and virtually never was down anymore then 50BB's in a day and then all of sudden the last 20,000 hands has been a rollercoaster. Either super hot or not.

A 50bb+ downswing? can happen at anytime during your playing day.

For me 3 or 4 times a week.

So much so, that I'm not too concerned anymore.

Now...if (when) I get closer to say 90... /images/graemlins/smirk.gif...I might be thinking of pulling the plug for the day and coming back tomorrow. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

It depends how much you play in that time. I play 2000-3500 hands a week. I'd say I have a 50-100bb downswing most weeks.

Yesterday--720 hands 5/10 -75BB
--500 more hands +76BB

Today -- 164 hands 5/10 -78BB!!!!!!

I was actually even at one stage today(been gettign slaughtered past few weeks) with 20 mins before i was going to stop then kept coming up against 2 guys that kept drawing me out,lost 30BB in 20 mins
so losing 50BB in a day is nothing
