Hand 1 is an obvious fold. If you want to play aggressive, raise aggressive, don't call aggressively! lol!

Hand 2, why fold? Raiser is screaming A-x to me. If you think he has an overpair, you never should have called PF, as you're not getting sufficient odds to flop a set.

Hornacek's post is dead on.

He's getting implied odds to flop a set. Also, there's no shame in folding given new information--"playing consistently" is not a +EV concept.

First hand is an easy fold. I'm not sure about the second.

What? How do you hear this. Limping with Ax is more likely than limping with a pair? And now he plays back at BB for half his own stack with nada? Or does he have exactly A5? I don't get it...

What the hell kinda of new information is given? It seems like its a $6 - $33 tourney, so I'd push Hand 2 in those tnys any time. Don't play scared. Surprisingly, your opponents don't hold the nuts every hand.

The new information reference was just a general reply to your advice. In this hand, I think a push is correct. But, in general, if you call on one street thinking your hand is good, that does not require that you call on the next street if a blank falls.

I haven't played 22s in while, so I'm not really sure. At higher levels, this min raise is really scary...and I'd be concerned about 22-55, 77-TT.

Ax? Sure, it's possible, but I don't see why he'd raise with that, unless he had A4.

I think folding is ok, depending on your opinion on the villian.

Of course, the preflop limp is awful. I'd probably just push preflop.

Like Phil said, the min-raise does look fishy. It seems to me more of a set then A-X. I think you can wait for a better spot then gamble on an overpair and gutshot straight draw, when faced with a bet and raise for 1/2 your stack.

But it would be nice if reads were given, its very read dependant.

1 - groovey
2 - fold or push PF. pushing over the limper sells the aggression better to the blinds - read dependant. fold is groovey too. can't limp this stuff at this level of blinds, with your stack.

Easy fold without some read saying otherwise. Even then...I don't mind a fold. You've got a big stack, and preserving it is key.

Push. You've got a miracle situation...an overpair with wired 6s. The raise says 'Ace' to me. If the Ace hits his straight, he's screwed because yours is bigger. At worst you're facing two overcards (including the Ace). The BB will likely go away.
