View Full Version : Id like to teach Coca Cola to STFU......

Does anyone else find this commercial, frequently played in theaters as well as on t.v, to be retarded? "I'd like to teach the world to chill... I'd like to buy the world a coke"??!!?!? Are they serious?

Maybe im wrong....maybe hippies do still exist.

It is a remake of a classic coke commercial from the 70's

The original is fun. The remake, as usual, is weak.

Isn't that guy called G-love? Same dude that did G-love & Special Sauce - I like cold beverages.mp3 If it is the same guy, ironic Coca-Cola picked him.

I hate all diet cola. Kinda defeats the purpose. Is Coke Zero any good?

They should go to hell and die.

Oh and so should you, because I know have that stupid song stuck in my head.

I don't know why, but I hate this commercial with a passion. The only way that cornucopia of cultures is getting together to sing a song is if they're getting paid.

And it is G-Love.

You know what's funny about this. Awhile back this was voted the all-time greatest ad campaign by the advertising community. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

The 70's commercial was okay because everyone was into that hippie thing (until they all wised up and went to Wall Street or Silicon Valley, but that is another thread for another day).

The best remake of the original commercial was in 1985 when the hippies and their kids got together.

Coke should STFU indeed.

My guess is that young adults found the original commercial as silly as most young adults find this new one.

It probably deserves it because anyone reading this who was more than 4 years old between 1979 and 1982 is right now singing the song in their head (with complete harmony).

I don't know if I'm more sick of this crap or the Bryan Adams BS they keep playing for SportsCenter's 50 in 50.

I LOVE this commercial. There is nothing I like better than watching someone sell their artistic credability for the all mighty dollar. I especially like it when its a somewhat kind of unkown/indie/notmainstream type person that lots of people think is a really great artist and stuff, and then it just turns out they are another whore lined up in the capatilistic gang bang.

good times!
