View Full Version : Censorship

I'm confused... a post by Asle Gjesteland announcing a game he enjoyed playing at a certain site was deleted, however I see many praises of the "Mirage", "Bellagio" and other card rooms. Can someone explain the reasoning here?

I'd also like to know how the posts in the "Scientific Mystery" thread by White Marcher are allowed to stay and are NOT censored.

Debbie:

We have posting guidelines and these include no blantant ads. If I see a post that qualifies as such it gets taken down.

Unfortunately, I can't read every post that goes on these forums. Thus some do slip through.

Also, keep in mind that the posts that get taken down are blantant ads and insults. We do not remove any that disagree with our advice or that expouse views many would feel are wrong or at least controversial so long as they are posted in a polite and professional manner. However, there is sometimes a fine line between posts like these and insults, so in these cases we do try to be liberal.

Finally, if you play in some particular game either in a B&M cardroom or an on line casino and you enjoy this game, you are certainly free to mention it. We suggest that when you do this also state that you are just a customer and are not associated with the cardroom. However, officials of the cardroom are free to come on and answer any questions that someone may have asked about their site or games that they offer. But again, they should identify themselves and their position as it relates to that entity.

With that being said, understand that I just happen to know everyone associated with The Mirage and The Bellagio poker rooms. I don't know everyone associated with Internet sites. So when I read a post from someone that reads like an ad and I do not know who it is, it will come down and the integrity of our posts is maintained.

I hope this answers your questions/concerns,

Best wishes,

Mason

He had written on the Internet Gambling site that PS had a .5/1.00 pot limit game. One sentence only, and I happened to see it and then read his post that it was deleted. It was no more than one sentence, and merely stated that the game was being spread. He DID NOT state that he was not a shill/owner of the site, but it sure didn't read as an advertisement to me.
