Do you think it is depraved to talk about death tolls in the middle of a natural disaster?

I ask because when I posted this poll (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=3284681) I got an almost universal negative response to even discussing the issue.

Please comment. What am I missing?

i really don't think it is depraved to talk about anything. however I will allow for some extreme exceptions, this is not one.

Depraved isn't the word I would use. I clicked that link and your post does seem distasteful, disrespectful, and frivelous. I would say it is a useless post that could rightfully offend some people.

People (especially Americans) only want to talk about death when it involves number of dead Iraqi combatants (aka civilians), and is presented as real life entertainment on Fox News.

Talking about idiots who lost their life in true Darwin style is not considered good form when they're members of our own nation, and we didn't kill them.
