Is my avatar too offensive (and not funny) to be displayed?

Edit: clearing up some confusion
The picture is real, the pirate hats, parrot, and tv are all photoshopped in I believe.

Clearly the guys in the picture are making light of their situation, so I don't see anything wrong with it.

If i were in NO and i found a pirate hat i would so wear it while on a boat. Then again I have always wanted to quit my job to be a pirate and/or ninja.

That was my thinking. I didn't even notice the parrot or the TV. I just saw the hats. The photoshopping makes the pic not nearly as funny, and it's more offensive. I think I want to change my vote to no, don't use it.

The picture is funny, but I don't think it's a good avatar because at 80x80 nothing is recognizable.

The peg leg is fantastic.
I think it's funnier because the Pirates of the Carribean ride is in New Orleans Square at Disneyland, but maybe it's just me.

If it were unedited, it'd be funny. But since it's not, I find it mean-spirited, and I don't think you should use it.
Adding the TV is especially egregious. These people have quite possibly lost their home, and not only are you making light of their misery, but you're going to imply they're thieves as well?

Yeah? Having to open the image to view the whole thing does not a good avatar make.
Oh, and I find nothing funny about what's going on. Sorry, there's just no humor in it or your shopped image. Usually I can find humor in almost everything, but not in this case.

I am from New Orleans, my entire family is still in the area. I think it is a tragedy what happened to these poor people.
And to post this pic at a time like this..... Is F'N hillarious! You know this is how them must feel a little bit anyway.
Just make sure you make a donation to the Red Cross to show that you do care and this is all in good fun!

I vote too offensive because I always vote against posting pictures of people who haven't given their explicit permission to have their pictures used for these types of purposes, unless they are celebrities.
Basically, if you're not 100% sure the guys in the picture would think it's cool and funny, then don't post it.
