hand 1: if you don't push this hand, you are pushing the next one. at least you have a face card this time. I would push.

hand 2: my first instinct is to call, but i'm very interested in hearing the replies.

Call, you only have to beat the shortie and his call range is likely widish, and the button push range is pretty wide too.

Hand 1: fold easy decision i think

Hand 2: Depends what ur playing for. I personally fold and try to get heads up and make more money, anything can happen if u call...short stack doubles up and u can be out. Again if your happy just Making it to the money and wanna take a chance...call

No, he is so short, it's not that easy. The problem with pushing is lack of FE.

He's ITM, and even there it's a monster, easy call on the bubble too.

I think you should push the first--you could get dead money in from the SB, and it's either this hand or next hand.

The second I'm sure is call. 1) if the short stack loses, you still get second 2) even if that weren't true, you're favorite over all but two hands, and your opponents' ranges are really wide.

Hand 1......he's on the button. Yes short stacked, but not the hand i wanna make astand with. Blinds at 150/300. You get 2 more rounds to pick a better spot, me personally, J with weak kicker i try and wait it out.

Hand 2.....yes in the money, but this hand is trickier. Again, instinct says call, and i personally call. Some players are more conservative and would rather them two battle it out. Just an opinion

I'm the most conservative player here, and I call the QQ /images/graemlins/smile.gif

The reason , as others have said, is as follows.

There are six orders you can finish in this pot.

1st Hero 2nd Short 3rd Big = Hero HU with "all" the chips.
1st Hero 2nd Big 3rd Short = Hero HU with "all" the chips.
1st Big 2nd Hero 3rd Short = Hero takes 2nd place
1st Big 2nd Short 3rd Hero = Hero takes 2nd place
1st Short 2nd Hero 3rd Big = Still 3 players, Hero ok stack
1st Short 2nd Big 3rd Hero = Hero comes 3rd, posts bad beat

Factor in that Hero probably has the best hand and I think that's acceptable risk.

okay, well then i'll say call on 2nd hand. Still don't like pushing the 1st hand though

Hand 1, push w/ no question. You have less than 2xblinds & are first to enter. More specifically to your question, push in this spot w/ just about anything. You fold this hand you are only delt one time before in the blind again. At that point you're an easy call for anyone b/c so short stacked.

H 2, this is a tougher call for me. Q's are excellent 3 handed. I'd say it would have to be a decision based more on the read you have on the other two. I'd probably push at this point though. /images/graemlins/confused.gif

I'm interested in hearing arguements against this, or at least other ideas & why?

The added incentive to pushing the 1st (in addition to "opening"), is that this will most likely be your LAST chance at a HU situation.

The QQ really is a very easy call.

Other than my other post, try looking at it this way.

Someone is probably going to beat the short stack here, so he's out.
If the short stack is out , would you like to play the other guy heads up with QQ now, or whatever you're dealt next hand?

i already said i agree with the QQ call....either way...i don't like the push with the 1st hand here.

Nobody "likes" pushing in this position. It's the correct play though.

Is the QQ an easy call if shorty folds? If we switch stacks with shorty?

I'm curious about the last question.

But, I think there are three important points to make here.
1) 3-handed, QQ is a really good hand, especially in high blind SnGs.
2) Once you get to three-handed in a SnG, you should be playing almost like this is a cash game with way too high blinds because the jump between third and second is way smaller than the jump between second and first.
3) Your calling range should go up significantly on the bubble and three handed when you cover.

Thanks a lot guys, this has been very helpful. Just so ya know the first hand I folded and ended up losing an all in 2 hands later when I was bb with k8o. The second hand I ended up losing to the big stacks k9o, the small stack had a8o.
