This is a site called the Global Consciousness Project. They have 40 things called "eggs" scattered around the world, which are random event generators hooked up to computers, hooked up to the internet. These "eggs" measure the deviation from the norm in 200 events per second and report the results to a central server. The people running the project then make predictions about worldwide events (eg sept 11, or midnight on new year's) effecting the results - generally by increasing deviation from the norm. They then test to see what results were actually obtained at the time a change is predicted.
So far the probability that all the deviations they have observed occurred by chance is about 1 in 100,000. The few hours following Sept 11th alone produced a deviation that was 1000 to 1 against occurring by chance. Midnight on New Year's also consistently provides a large deviation from the norm.
All their methodology and raw data is available on the site. You might think it's all garbage but it's a lot more interesting that the usual alien conspiracy type X-Files fare. And who here wouldn't be interested in controlling the outcome of random events..... /images/smile.gif
