you are given a choice: you can either get a 5% increase in your pay, or your own private bathroom. if you have your own office, the bathroom can be adjoining your office. no matter what, though, the bathroom is only accessible to you, and anyone you want to let use it. assume the 5% increase in pay is to your annual income from your job. obviously this poll primarily applies to people who have office jobs...people who work from home already have their own bathrooms so they can suck my ass.

Bathroom. 5% isn't going to change my quality of life, having my own bathroom instead of sharing it with the idiots who work in my building is nearly priceless. Bathroom time is sacred to me. I'm assuming I can have toiletries, magazines, etc etc etc in there.

It's money. To me, anything is better than nothing. I don't really care if someone else is using the bathroom here. I brush my teeth and shave at home, so I don't need to keep toiletries in there. If I need to sit down for a while, I'll just print up an internet story then throw it out on my way out, so I don't need to keep magazines in there.

Do you guys have big crowds in the bathrooms or something? That might change my tune, if I had to wait in line.

I'd take the raise. It affects more than just your current pay. It sets you up for bigger jumps in the future from this employer (if they give annual percentage of base pay raises for instance) or future employers.

not to brag (although i'm sure that's how it will seem) but my annual total comp is very healthy (mid-six figures - i manage a mutual fund) ... 5% isn't going to change my way of life but it IS a nice chunk of change that i can do something fun with. our office bathrooms are immaculately kept and i'm in there two minuter per day, if that. for me, the raise is a no-brainer.

My G/F works at the same firm I do....If i had a private bathroom, I wouldn't have to worry about trying to find a hidden part of the building or getting the key for the disabled toilets.....

I would never use it for toilet purposes but freshening up and naughty behaviour....5% of my wages is £1000....Ask me agian in 10 years when i should be on £150K+ and my answer may be a little different....

FWIW, My floor has 140 men on it and 9 women...
There is one male toilet (2 urinals and 3 cubicles) and a female toilet (3 cubicles) and 1 disbaled toilet....Imagine the toilet scenario at certain points of the day !!! If my g/f didn't work here then I would take the toilet anyway...

I have to share a bathroom with walk-in traffic and students that exist on our floor. I can't wait till we move to our new building and I don't have random idiots pissing all over my floor (our problem is that we only have an Evanal, and nobody knows how to cope).
