I just finished Tournament Poker for advanced players and on page 69 David talked about a program that would allow you to punch in one hand against another or one specified hand against one random hand. My question: Where can I find a program like this and will it be easy to learn how to use? Also can I set it up to run that specific hand for a hundred, two hundred or a thousand times. thank you Bones

There are several kinds. If you're just looking for hand vs. hand "hot-n-cold" analysis- hand values in competition where there is no betting- you can find many free programs that do this, as well as some purchase software.

The software David S was referring to was Poker Probe by Mike Caro, I believe, and may still be for sale, though it is very old.

If you want to set up simulations for studying hand strengths in the real world, with betting and player types involved, a program such as Turbo Texas Holdem by Wilson Software is probably what you are looking for. It does the hot-n-cold, but it allows you to set up hands, scenarios and player types and includes the betting, the effect of rake, etc.

One warning- don't get the Tournament program looking for a similar analysis ability. Simulations are not part of that program

HoldEm Showdown will do the job.
It's a freebie, works good.
