so a buddy of mine asked me to come up with a common noun that becomes plural when you add an 'a' to the beginning of the word.
it's been a couple days...and i still come up with nothing...so now I bring it to OOT - i'm sure one of you knows the answer to this.

Maybe it's something like 'cross' and 'across' where adding the 'a' makes it plural but not the plural of the same word. Just a direction to think in.

i'm pretty sure it makes the plural of the singular word...he said that he's had professors tell him it's impossible - until he gave them the answer.
seriously, one of the ootiots must know this.

Okay, so I've got the answer -
<font color="red"> YES & AYES </font>
I'm pretty dissapointed OOT didn't come up with this...but now you have a new one if you're so inclined.
