Easy, someone sets themselves up for great responses to illustrate whatever trait or idea they want to. This actually happens with editorials sometimes. Someone will get into a 'debate' with themselves where they proceed to completely dominate their alter ego, thus pumping up the side of the argument they favor.

I almost didn't post this since I hate the idea of a rash of posters creating aliases to do this, but then I remembered we have a good mod here.
