100BB buyins at party? When did this happen and why?

The subject says it all. I took a long hiatus from poker, and when I recently returned, I was suprised to see 100BB buyins at party NL. What brought about this change? Did party actually listen to people (of course not), or did they somehow figure out they would get more rake this way (probably)? Oh yeah, and there are $2000 buyin tables now?!?

Now instead of people autocalling 4xBB raises they can autocall 8xBB raises for the same amount. I guess that's progress...

it happened around march of this year. i dont think anyone knows why.

nobody raises 8xbb, 4xbb is still the standard.

Really, no one knows, it just happend out of the blue one day, along with the high buyin tables? Wonder what happend to that "keep the fish from going broke" strategy with 50bb buyins and $200 max tables. Maybe they were losing players to other sites that offered what they didn't.
