gasket. Close to $2000 to fix, needs a valve job as well. What is the best thing to do with it? It isn't in all that good of shape anyway, with rust. But the tires are 2 year old Michelins and I put in a ten disk CD player with new speakers about 3 years ago. I hate to sell it for $50 or give it away for a free tow to a junk yard.

check around as 2 g's is too much for a valve job, the volvo parts are expensive but thats too much.

still the cars may not be worth fixing so maybe pull whats good and junk the rest. if you really like the car buy another and use one for parts.

replace the head gasket yourself, with some help. its not brain surgery. check for coolant in your oil. to much and you may have shot your engine but most likely go for the fix. pull the head with some help and make sure its not warped from overheating. then replace and torque bolts to about 60 lbs. but check the specs as all engines are different. just dont over tighten.

Thanks great advice Ray,

As much as I want to get a new car, I'm going to take your advice. I found someone that will do the work for $450 (a hell of lot better than new car payments!).
