View Full Version : Should I have just folded the turn? 2/4 Party

08-29-2005, 08:06 PM
I've been here about 1 orbit and have been forced to play pocket 8s and fold them on the flop twice. In my experience the way the guy played the hand he almost always has me beat whether it's two pair or a set, but given he raised from middle position I just call down hoping he has AQ/AK. I think AQ/AK may be some of my biggest losers for hands like these where I waste bets when all logic tells me I'm behind. It's so rare that I'm shown AQ/AK in these situations I don't see how calling down could possibly be profitable, but my stupid fingers just keep pushing my mouse toward check and call.

Easy call down against an unknown. AQ/AJ are far more likely than AT.

If you're thinking about throwing this away, you're thinking way to weak tight

I agree with everyone else. Played correctly for no read on the opponent.
