Well, Newark might very well be easiest for the Columbia center. LGA (or JFK) for the Cornell center.

There aren't really any hotels near the Columbia center, (at least not any major chains), so I'm thinking your best bet might be to stay in the Times Square area (if your budget can afford it) and take the A train up there, if you dont' have to be right near the hospital. Or you could stay in Fort Lee, NJ and take a quick bus trip over the George Washington Bridge.

I'm less familiar with the lodging situation for the Cornell center. I know there's gotta be some hotels/inns around there, but boutique-type places on the Upper East Side may be expensive. You'll find some chain hotels in the 30s and 40's on the east side, and can either take the subay uptown a bit, or cab it over to the hospital.

Then again, staying anywhere in Manhattan will be expensive.

ok, im assuming youre talking about columbia presbyterian. its on 168th and fort washington, the north of manhattan. laguardia is by far by far the closer of the airports. i have no idea how long the drive will take, i dont drive. its not far though, without traffic.

Of course, that is completely ignoring if you happen to be looking for the Westchester location.

price isnt an issue...convience is....and round about time it would take to get there...from hotel to hospital and airport to where ever

Definitely go with EWR or LGA. Either one would be under 30 minutes drive time without traffic from the airport. Never know what traffic you'll hit though.

And my original suggestion for hotels remains the same.

There's some decent hotels up by me on the UWS, but if price isnt an issue, you're really only talking about a 10 minute differential from the better hotels down town. I'd go with the Hudson which is close to the West Side Highway. It's a really great place too.
