I'd raise 3rd. I'd bet 5th the first time around; I'd rather be checkraised, and be pretty sure of where I was at, than be in the situation where he still could be slowplaying (most players with trips would definitely NOT keep slowplaying if you bet and got called on 5th).

Since you asked, I'd have to guess pair of aces for the 3 seat, though he could have a lot of other things too.

actually I had taken a break before hand so I was pretty calm when the hand took place.

But since I had been angry before, and now I was sitting at a 10/20 table...I had to come up with seomthing for a title

I have no idea why you wouldn't complete on 3rd and I like what Bart said about finding out where your at on 5'th.

I'd raise coming in on third. Fourth is fine. I'd probably just bet on fifth. Since you checked, and since the Eights didn't check-raise, I would check-raise. Other than that, it's fine. I'm guessing the other guy thought this was high-low.
