not that there is yet another thread needed for hurricane-itis, but i was curious if any of you are considering helping out after all of the devastation after it hits.

anyone already making plans to help out in the relief/cleaning efforts that are going to necessary in the coming weeks?

i am sure celebrities are already planning a telethon.

I was planning to pay taxes at some point. If that helps...

same thing that happened with the "Tsunami Relief Fund"

people see the devastation on tv and donate money one time and think they're involved with it

Yeah. One of my neighbor's brother run The Gumbo Group, which is an international charity group that cooks food for rescue workers. They've been to Iraq, were at GZ after 9/11, and have been on the other end of multiple hurricanes. Also, I know for sure that my mom is going down to help afterwards, as she grew up there. I don't know if I'm actually going to go myself immediately afterwards, but I can't imagine not going at some point to do what I can. Too many friends there not to do anything.
