Full frontal nudity, crucifixions, and people getting killed with swords. Two thumbs up.

The crucifixions were cool.

They only set the table tonight, letting you know who the main characters are, and who will be pitted against whom.

No witty dialogue, like you would find in Deadwood or Sopranos. The sex and violence is going to have to carry this thing--and the sex was certainly nothing to write home about tonight.

agreed. I thought it was great. I doubt it will be as good as deadwood because of L.O.S.

That one redhead chick, the mom, is hot. That said, her whole character reeked of "trying to hard to be shocking".

I thought the stuff with the two soldiers was good, and that the rest was pretty meh. I might watch it again, but it's far from on par with other HBO shows.

HBO should of been totally shameless and just cast Ian McShane as Sweregenius, proprietor of Rome's best house of ill-repute.

I think the show has potential, but this episode was not fantastic. I will probalby watch it either way.
