I am looking to download some more music, and I want purely instrumental. No words. I will listen to anything, other than classical stuff such as Bach. Not in the mood

Any suggestions?

Godspeed is pretty intense. If you do some research on them, you will find them even more intense. Some of the members formed another band. I can't quite recall the name, but i think it was "On Top of Silver Mt. Zion". Something like that. Glad you liked it.

M83 is pretty tight. Ratatat is amazing- just two dudes on guitars and a drum machine.

There's a few songs where words are involved, but I enjoy Robert Miles. Dreamland is definitely the best album.

Rob Dougan put out some great instrumental stuff on his Furious Angels CD. The only issue with the rest of the CD is that there are vocals (which I enjoy).

My suggestion: Find the instrumental version of his "Nothing at All."

I don't remember anything ever, which is part of why I am so uncool. The only reason I remembered the Tortoise album is because several indie-rock fascists are beating me with their shoulder bags and the record fell out of one and landed in my lap.

Also, the OP should really get "Giant Steps" by John Coltrane.

Is it bad if people constantly ask me about things that I have no recollection of, and assert their veracity?

Dave Brubeck is very good. "Take Five" is a very good album.

Burning Spears usually releases nice dubbed albums with no lyrics...usually used by Dance Hall reggae DJs...but some good looped reggae beats.

Booker T and the MG's, any record except for McLemore Avenue, which actually isn't bad, just misguided.

Jazz:

John Coltrane, A Love Supreme
Charles Mingus, Blues & Roots
Lee Morgan, Tom Cat

Surf:

Galaxy Trio, Saucers Over Vegas
Man or Astroman?, Is It...Man or Astroman?
Satan's Pilgrims, Plymouth Rock: The Best of Satan's Pilgrims

Other:

Dirty Three, Horse Stories
Dirty Three, Ocean Songs
Dirty Three, Whatever You Are, You Love

Dirty Three are a 3 piece: Guitar, Drums, Violin. Haunting, melodic, emotional, beautiful music.

If you can find it...Paul Galbraith is an amazing 8 string guitarist. He has a 2 disc album out that's entirely Bach "covers" (if you can call them that). It's absolutely amazing. He keeps all of the melodies going by himself and the notes are incredibly clean/clear. Highly, highly recommended. Brandenburg concertos, specifically #5 if you're looking just for Bach.

if you don't mind a bit of heavy stuff, then, download "liquid tension experiment". All very talented musicians. If you like R & B or Jazz, then, download "New Deal", "DJ Logic" or "RJD2".

If you like The Books and like Prefuse 73 you'll love the album.

If you have Surrounded by Silence then one of the tracks on there is a track they did together and that's pretty much how the whol EP sounds.
