Well this is kind of embarassing, but what the hell.

I'm one of the many college-dropout poker pros. Money really isn't an issue as i've been doing quite well on the tables, and have been reinvesting most of my profits. Unfortunately this success hasnt come without its cost.

After going to college, I lost touch with a bunch of people in my home town, which is normal. Had my new group, had a GF, it was a good time. After quitting, I came back home and got back into my old clique. Now that summer is over, alot of those people are off to college themselves and I'm left bored out of my god damn mind.

I'm 20, so I cant go to bars/clubs. There is a riverboat casino in town, but...i'm 20. I'm an athiest so church activities arent really an option. Not especially good at any sports aside from ultimate frisbee...lol.
I think my biggest problem is that I've never been good with first impressions. Dont really know why, just a shortcoming of mine.

Oh btw, my last girlfriend/lay was during college. So i'm pretty much dying here.

Anybody else get through a similar situation? Any tips on social events where going alone wouldnt be an issue? I'm sure i'm not the only college dropout around here...so i hope someone can know where i'm coming from.

How big is the city you live in? I find it is so much easier to pick up girls by myself than when I am with a group of friends. I think it shows more confidence.

Oh, and ther is the end all and be all of dating: www.myspace.com. (http://www.myspace.com.) It is so easy to meet girls on there. Yeah, sometimes you will meet one that put up her best picture from when she was a sophmore in high school, but it is a numbers game. I cannot promoste myspace for picking up girls too much. It is a gold mine. Since I have been in Portland..a little over 4 months..I have slept with 5 girls...3 from myspace.com and messed around with probably about 10-12 different girls. At LEAST half were met off of myspace. I would take myspace over a bar anyday. In fact, I might take jerking it over a bar anyday.

p.s. One good thing about myspace.com is that you can learn a lot about the person before emailing them (and it is free). I think I have turned a few 2+2ers onto myspace.com. [censored], I am going to get on right now and try to get a date for the next couple of days.

Try and move in with some friends from college. It doesn't matter that you're not going to class. You can still hang out in the town, live with people your own age, and do the whole college-scene social thing. That's what I'd do anyway.

When I did it, I just got an appartment in the same college town I went to school in. I was basically the same as any other college kid, except I didn't go to class and I had money.

Go back to school? I cant understand why people put their whole life on hold to play an extra 2 hours a day. Its not hard to go to school, and work 25-35 hours a week, if you arent a lazy bum.
