The Never Ending Hold'em Wars...

It was the beginning of second year of the second Millennium of the Hold'em Wars. Many high- ranking Military Leaders had already planned for their winter campaign. January, is traditionally a big recruiting month for many low ranking Commanders. Their governments begin collecting taxes in January, so the Tax Man can replenish the decreasing stacks of Chips lost in the Hold'em Wars of 2001. The drafted Chips create new armies for these low ranking Commanders. These raw Chip recruits are heading for battlefields around the country. Unfortunately, many low ranking Commanders lead without a campaign strategy. Their raw Chip recruits are fearlessly ready to splash their way into the deep abyss of action, but they have very little hope for survival.

Hold'em Wars, where winning strategies survive in the long run, and short term luck rewards the clueless, maniacs, calling stations and those approaching the land of Tilt. Short term luck gives hope to those who have a warring, gambling spirit. In the Hold'em Wars, those who fight for glory with reckless abandonment are like mad dogs snapping at the heels of the dog Exterminator.

Strategy according to Webster is the science and art of military command exercised to meet the enemy in combat under advantageous conditions. Whether one is a professional Hold'em General with racks and stacks of Chips or just a Weekend Warrior with a few meager stacks looking for a good fight, strategy is the key to success in the Hold'em Wars. The great leaders of the Hold'em Wars can revisit their war records to decide what strategies have a positive expectation and what dangers lurk around the battlefields. Commanders who fight without a strategy and keep no battle statistics, will end up in the same littered mine fields as last year. All evidence accumulated suggests any two cards can win, but the any two will do strategy is flawed numerically.

Last year we learned about Two Towns and a Valley. Mind sets for doing battle in the never- ending war for the glory of Chip domination. This year we will follow the explosive battles, where justice takes a back seat to the whims of chance. We will see the glory of winning with monster hands, and feel the agony of those poor Commanders that fall prey to the unexpected flash floods at the river. During this year's campaign, promotions will be given to leaders who show long range wisdom, and demotions to those who fight with flawed strategies. During this year's campaign the SPM will focus his reports to 2+2 on War strategies and the Commanders who send their Chips into Harms Way.

SPM - Based on your unprovoked request to see my losing and embarrassing called hands, be prepared to show all of your losing called hands this year and of course be prepared to have your big blind and limp in calls raised on a regular and somewhat consistent basis as well.
