With the a boat on the flop im obviously not worried about straight draw. Should I have reraised the bet and raise on the flop, reading it for trip 4s? I was hoping he had 67 <g> but the straight possibilities obviously scared villain. I learned my lesson from the last one and bet the river, but im wondering if I might not have stacked him had I shown more agression on the flop (but then he might have folded an overpair fearing the 4 himself??)

If you ever make a big hand, you should never be checking it. Unless you are 100% sure they will bluff their whole stack at you if you show weakness, you need to keep bulding the pot with medium sized bets to maxamize value. If he dosnet call, then he probebly has complete [censored] and woudltn of paid u anything anyways. Bet early and often!

that check miniraise on the flop is almost always going to be a 4, especially since you already know where three of the four 5s are. Knowing this, you've failed if you haven't gotten all of your chips in as soon as possible. I might just push over the top on the flop instead of the smooth calling and ending the action. Yes it will be a huge, obvious overbet, but its going to take a weak kicker and a good player to fold to your push. Another option would be to just call and open push the turn.

i was thinking afterwards this is exactly what i should have done, although a 300-400 raise wouldnt have been bad either.
