I've been keeping a running log of my winnings. I play mainly 1-4-8-8 half omaha hi only and half hold'm. I've been moving up in limit a little lately to 6-12 hold'm and 4-8-12 omaha. The question I have is how is it best to keep track of your hourly rate? Should you keep track by limit? By game? Or is it just your hourly rate with respect to poker and forget about the game you're playing??

I keep very granular records, sorted by type of game, limit, location (online or B&M). The more information I have, the better I can choose where and what to play so I have the best chance of increasing my bottom line.

How hard can it be to have a spread sheet with the following info:

Date Club Game Stakes Net Hours

Then you can sort on what you want to deduce your hourly rate at the various clubs/games/stakes.

OK, I first want to say I'm not a shill and have absolutely no vested interested in this. There is a site, www.pokercharts.com (http://www.pokercharts.com) that is FREE where you can keep track ofyour winnings. At leastcheck it out, it is free.

Hiya Schmed;

I used to play at Harrah's when I lived there. I bought some nice toys thanks to the nice 1-5 stud players in the Blue Dog poker room.

A couple of years ago Mason posted the information on a spreadsheet he uses to calculate his win rate and standard deviation.

If you can't find it, and you probably can't because I don't even know where to begin to look, PM me with your e-mail address and I'll send a copy of it to you with some sample data so you can see how it works. I keep a separate spreadsheet for each game and each limit I play.

This company has a nifty database for the Palm OS.

It's called HanDBase. You can keep track of as much or little as you wish.

record by game and session length. Other stats that you want to add for your own use, feel free.

Thanks......I'm currently using Mason's spreadsheet that one of you guys sent me to keep track of my first really bad run since I've been playing at the Casino. /forums/images/icons/confused.gif ...only been at it for a few months......my new leak in my game as I see it is not so much tilting with the hands I play but the length of session...trying to make my money back.....baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad plan I know...... I'm taking a break for a until after Jazzfest...(two weeks)...then I'm back on that horse.....
