Villain appears to be TAG after not too many hands, the BB is quite loose.

I'd probably 3bet the flop. I wouldn't fold the river.

I'd prefer to checkraise the flop that way you get to see what BB does (obviously most people are going to checkraise a pair, so his flop check doesnt mean anything).

If BB checkraises then you are able to 3bet and really see if Button likes his hand, you also have position on BB and can take a free showdown if you wish.

Betting out is mostly a weak play. I usually see it as a poor excuse for a bluff or a weak made hand trying to get the pot HU.

You really didnt put him to the test here so its tough to know whether to call.

At the time of the hand yes, I suppose he could. I normally call this every time. This time for whatever reason (maybe the alcohol) I decided to believe him. Not sure how bad that is.

It might sound weak, but I think folding the turn is the best option here. At this moment ur only ahead of AK (has 7 outs), AQ (11 outs) and 88 (10 outs). U got raised on the flop (I know this isn't that important, but still) and u only got about 4 outs at best to improve to the best hand urself. Since u didn't fold, I'd call the river cuz u still got a bit of showdown value and it may be good for info on future HU confrontations. I don't think it's that bad to fold the river though

On the turn I've got odds to hit a 9 or A if I am behind, can't fold there

7.75-1 on 5 outs isnt odds. you're also not accounting for the times when you're dominated by AT or AJ or drawing dead to a set or KQ. i dont think he's paying off 2 bets on the river if you catch and you're ahead, so it's really more of a netural EV decison if you know all your outs are live...which you don't.

this is why i dont like the flop lead as much as a c/r or a check/call and turn donk bet.

if you're going to fold the river unimproved, you might as well fold the turn. that'll encourage him to semi-bluff you more and you can start to pick them off.

But there's also a chance I still have the best hand on the turn. I didn't think this guy would fire again on the river if he didn't have me beat though

looks fine to me, I know everyone says you should call this river cuz you have showdown value, but I disagree. Against a decent player I think its a pretty good laydown.

Is there another converter that works w/Prima hand histories? I've tried Prima w/bison's converter but they aren't supported.

I agree completely. What hand does a solid player bet on the end here that you beat?

This is 4handed I think a worst 9 or smaller pp will bet on the river enough to call, plus the times you are being 3-bet very light on a semi-bluff.

But honestly i think cr the flop makes this hand much easier to play.

It does make it easier to play, but I wanted the BB out. He's a chronic flop peeler.

I prefer a flop check here for the same reasons as helpmeout.

The river fold is good.
