Is it pretty okay to take a shot at 3/6 (6 max) with $1,500? If so, at what point do you move back down?
Thanks,
M

I don't know much about 6max but I've heard that 150-200 bb downswings are fairly common. 1500$ sounds a bit low and if i were you i would play 2/4 until i had at least 2000$ before making a try. You can usually find some short 2/4 tables if you prefer that.

You should probably build it up to at least 300 BBs ($1800) before you take a shot at it.

Taking a shot is fine if you are prepared to drop down immediately should you start off poorly (even if it's just bad beats).

While we're on this thread...
How do you bankroll a game with a full kill? Is it 300X the big kill bet? Or somewhere in between....

If you want I wouldn't go exclusively to 3/6 6 max with 1500 but for a shot maybe dedicate 300 bucks and open up two tables, that way even if you go bust at both you have your adequeate (300 BB) roll for 2/4.
Good luck,

Matt, I'm curious how your shots destroyed your BR...do you mean taking shots where losing would leave you well below an appropriate BR for a lower level?
