Not betting out or check-raising here is silly.

Although I vote highly in favor of betting out.

You need to raise the flop or raise the turn. Could also lead turn or something.

But you know your line sucked.

I think checking is fine on the flop, maybe even standard. A bet should happen with 4 other opponents out there quite a bit of the time.

I might raise the flop some, just to slow him down on the turn (it's not like we're holding the stone cold nuts here)...other than that I think this line is fine.

Actually, with the VERY likely chance we're way ahead here, this line is both more profitable and a litte safer perhaps.

If you raise on the flop (baring a huge raise), a "K" is probably just calling you anyway. This leaves you leading "in the dark" on a turn that could have 2-paired him.

EDIT:

"..This leaves you leading "in the dark" on a turn that could have 2-paired him."

lol...i didn't even notice that he DID hit! i thought you won the hand /images/graemlins/wink.gif

even with this knowledge, i think my point about NOT reraising the flop is valid when your holding bottom/middle two pair. a bit weak, sure. but, if you let him keep firing into the pot with "just a K-pair", he is in unknowingly giving himself incorrect odds to catch his second pair. i just don't see how raising the flop is going to get the K to fold.

hmmmm, yeah, that's pretty weak. having him NOT fold is the point eh? lol...man, i need to man-up some...

reraise pot on flop - push turn with your last 400whatever chips

I would have made a pot sized bet the flop.

That said, the idiot who limped UTG with K8o probably would have won the hand anyway. Most likely, he wouldn't have laid down TPWK on the flop, thinking it was the holy nuts.

Yeah...that's pretty ugly. You should be betting that flop every time. After you check, and it goes bet, call, call, you should check-raise EVERY TIME.

It's not that slowplaying is always bad. It's that slowplaying bottom two pair is always bad.
