If I can put the original raiser on AQ here, do I want to rereaise the flop to try to get the other guy out or call and string him along for some extra bets? Wasn’t quite sure how to play this.

Nice, 2 hands your afraid of: AA and QQ. They would typically cap preflop.

A better question would be what to do if raised on turn/river to which I think you call down

as a general rule, in big multiway pots don't [censored] around. slowplay in small headsup pots.
