Wow, what a coincidence. They finally fought off the "hackers" the day the US takes Baghdad. LOL.

I visited the english version site about 9 days ago so. I don't know how long it was up before that or how much since then. I just assumed since I could easily gain access to it when I wanted to that there was no issue regarding hackers anymore. I just don't go to the site because I didn't find it any thing special. I thought it was rather "vanilla" to be honest.

Tom,

I agree with your opinion about the English version of Al-jazeera. But, what was all the fuss about. I didn't read anything their I didn't expect to read. So, what I can't figure out is why people were afraid of me reading it. I found Reuters and the BBC to be much better online sources, even for anti-war advocates.

The real coincidence is that you chose today to make the post. I read the site all weekend.

Actually Jimbo, while today was the first time I was able to access the english site, I admit I didn't attempt to access it over the weekend, so you might be right about the timeframe it got back up.

Jimbo's right. It came back online late last week. It wasn't accessible for most of the time period Tom mentions: it was launched on the 25th, and disrupted by the 27th, I think.
