View Full Version : I Feel A Check-Raise Coming, Continuation Bet Still A Good Move?

I'm rarely ever in this situation early on because my table image is never "aggressive" during Level 1. However, I picked up about 2 or 3 monster PF hands that were all taken down by either a PF raise or a bet on the flop. So the table probably thought I was an aggressive player.

Would this have been a good time to save some chips and not c-bet? Or is that just weak?

Raise more preflop, like to 80 or 90. Given your image, call a push.

Is this because of my image? Or just in general?

I just check/call this for set value.

I think both in this case. You could argue that a healthier raise will be more likely to entice a push from someone, with which your image, you will be a good favorite against.

But more importantly, I don't want to play a multiway pot with JJ unless I'm limping. I want to raise enough to get it heads up. Raising a 15 blind to 60 after three limpers with the blinds yet to act on Party is a surefire recipe for a multiway pot.

Terrible. Unless you are saying specifically because of his image... nah, it's just terrible.

To the OP: you can check behind on this flop given your image. That's about as innocent a board as you can get as far as draws go; you are WAWB.

I meant I check pre-flop for set value. Man that sounded donkish /images/graemlins/smile.gif
