I just started it and am hooked, curious to see who else here has read it.

I read it. Pretty good stuff. If I ever found a spare hour or two, I'd read it again. Every friggin word has some hidden meaning it seems.

I didn't mean I could literally read the book in an hour.

it was ok. i stopped after about 400 pages. i just got sick of the author's holier than thou writing style. also there is only so many times i can flip a book upside down to read the 3 words printed on each page.

Yes, I read it and basically liked it. I wouldn't want to tell you my problems with it until after you'd finished it, but I thought it was brilliant in spots and quite bad in spots, but well worth reading even if the author's clear self-regard might turn you off a bit. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I thought it was great! It was a major influence on my master's thesis.

I haven't read it yet, but I have an album by his sister, who records under the name Poe, called Haunted, which is meant to be sort of a reflection of the book. Not to say they mirror each other, but there are bits in the album inspired by the book, and on one bonus track her brother actually reads passages from his work.

It's a really good record, and maybe work a look if you're into the book.
