photoshop is a much better way to do it. i'm sure someone on here will resize it for you if you post the picture.

Avatars can only be 80x80. So when it's 342x342 it gets scrunched.

Photoshop CS. It doesn't come with your computer. It runs about $150 or so.

He is to fast !

I used ImageMagick (http://www.cit.gu.edu.au/~anthony/graphics/imagick6/) it is free and might have been included with your comp when you bought it. Or you can download it free now.

From the command line type

convert filename.jpg -resize 80x80 newfilename.jpg

And if the file is in the dir you are using your done. It can do almost anything the bought ones can.

Almost forgot the important part.

I am trying to learn how to do this but I am far from being able to do it yet. The tool I linked earlier can do it I just don't know how to use it that good yet. Plus I am not sure what method would be best to capture the video from the dvd. I am not sure if I need video type footage or just the still photos. I am sure one of the other guys can do it easy but I would like to hear how and if no one wants to try and do it I'm willing to try if you are not in a hurry to get the final product.

You can resize pictures with Paintshop that comes with Windows. Just go under Image->Stretch/Skew and then adjust the vertical and horizontal stretch by the same amount.

I downloaded (for evaluation purposes) a copy of PS CS 9 (with KG) overnight that I am getting ready to install. I'll let you know if it has this functionality.

Also, checkout http://www.videohelp.com/tools for ripping tools, since this will be the first step.

Irfanview (http://www.irfanview.com/) is a decent, free program that does cropping, resizing, converting, without needing to spring for photoshop.

I've already got them on my HD in vob format (or whatever it is....I'm at work and they're at home). I've got PS CS2 so that's no problem.

Thx for the help.
