can someone give me a more in depth analysis of this hand? I guess it was pretty bad...

Sometimes you just know. You weren't born with that gift.

Like Phil said....depends.

Depends on if you want to just make the money and claw your way up to a decent finish.
Or maybe winning is the only goal.
Depends on the read of the villain. Is he an tight or loose? Has he displayed a good sense of bubble play?

To me, a key issue is that he acted first AND UTG. He has an M of about 5, so he is definitely at the critical all in stage. HOH V2 says you should push just about everything if you are first in. My guess is that even tho he has an M of 5ish, most typical players in a $5 buyin aren't gonna push anything. My best guess is Ax or better. Certainly he'd push a PP. Maybe even two overs. Since you've lost first in vigorish, I fold and wait.

That being said, if winning is the only goal, I push. Given his range of hands it's probably a race unless your against a lower PP.

I didnt care about cashing, the FT was my goal. What do you think is a reasonalbe hand range here, I was new to the table so didnt have any reads. 22-AA(88/99-AA maybe??), ATs-AKs, AQo-Ako, KQs?? I guess if that is the hand range Im giving him, its probably a -EV call. Am I correct here??

That's pretty much what I'm saying.

This UTG would not have pushed with less than 99. Does not look good for hero.

I think its good to lay this down and pick a better spot. You dont have enough chips to be wrong about your assumption right now. Its not worth the risk. Someone UTG might push with something less than 99 especially is they are in desperation mode. Possibly the 55 or 66. If they just want the blinds. Only way i would make this call is if i knew he was a loose player and/or i had more than 5X his allin.

I fold and don't look back, unless he's been raising really stupid hands.

Well, what kind of read do you have on this player? Has he been pushing all in a lot? Is he an aggressive player that plays a lot of pots? Has he been active lately?

I personally would lay that down without more information on the raiser. I mean, he went all in against the whole table with only two stacks lower than his, that has to count for something.

what hands would he make this move with? AA-TT, AK, AQ, maybe AJ, AT. That is why the read is so important to answering this question. I would be more inclined to call one of the really short stacks in this situation than this UTG raiser.
