View Full Version : Somethings a foot...

Holiday insanity has griped the only two poker rooms in the Chicago land area. Hollywood Casino, Aurora, IL, calling a pre-flop three bet with a 72 double suited, against the SPM's picture pair. Then winning a monster pot with two pair on the turn, when the duce hit, breaking the sprit of the SPM. The next day across town at Harrah's Casino, IN six callers every time the SPM raised. Proving once again, if you gang call a raiser, he doesn't stand a chance.

Where do these crazy people come from? Did one of the local nut houses release the inmates with instructions to find and destroy the SPM. They call them great games but has any thinking player ever beat a great game? Numerical logic would dictate the meaning of a great game equals increased financial worth. However, in the poker community telling someone you played in a great game, automatically means you lost. It's a crazy rule for crazy people in love with the concept of frustration. "The cards have no respect for talent!" says Wee Willy, the greatest out of Town card player alive. The thrill of victory goes to the inmates, the agony of defeat weights heavy on the heart of the SPM.

I see this in Vegas occasionaly. Clarkmeister sits at a table and says things like "Let's gambuuuuule!" and strange things start to happen. Before you know it, somebody 3-bets you with QJo and thinks it's brilliant.

His recent trip to Chicago has undoubtedly caused this. You should feel the aftershocks for awhile but eventually your games will return to normal.

Look at the bright side. In 3 more days you'll be even again!

*grins*

I even louder at Harrah's than at the Mirage. I was shouting REEVER REEEVER on the turn. Soon they all learned that it is good and proper to gambol it up! Poker is fun played this way. All hands started to have value against these fish, and with skillful manipulation winning the pot was easy. I was playing bad hands for profit where Ray Zee said I couldn't. /images/wink.gif

Looked for you on Saturdy between 3 and 9:30 p.m. at Harrah's no one knows you. Sounds like you think you were shouting for all to hear but all evidence to the contray. Step up from the 4-8 to the 10-20 and give us a poker lesson Sunday, at Hollywood in Aurora.
