I dont take offense, I just picture some pasty white guy pushing 200 lbs wearing a bright green hawaiian shirt and red khacki shorts trying to ask a local where is McDonalds.

everytime anyone mentions traveling, this phrase is used. the europe itinerary guy just used it.

Plenty of Australian women don't like Australian men. Ask any American serviceman that's ever stepped off a ship there. They're waiting at the dock, and not hookers. Just girls that like Americans.

I would never deny that's part of it. But the traditional relationship between men & women is different in many cultures. Let's face it people's way of thinking is different from country to country, culture to culture.

I also know American men that prefer Filipino women, Japanese women, etc. How is it different?

Well, everytime americans would arrive in our town (naval town) in France, girls would just wait for them in the surrounding bars. They loved to hear them talk (americans trying to speak french sound very sexy)

YOu're french ? Wow. BTW, I can tell a Japanese girl from a Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc...... I went out with one for 9 months and after a while, I could tell the difference.

Yea. After living over there for a year, I could tell too. I can't so much anymore though. I remember telling some old woman "konichiwa, mama-san" in some movie theatre when I first got back. It didn't even occur to me that i might be wrong about her being Japanese.

No, there were usually enough girls for everyone. Most of the fights started because they were drunk.
