- - - HAND 90 - - -

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (6 max, 5 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Th, Qh.
MICROPOSTER raises, MP calls, 2 folds, BB calls.

Flop: (6.33 SB) 6s, Qs, Ac (3 players)
BB checks, MICROPOSTER bets, MP calls, BB calls.

Turn: (4.66 BB) As (3 players)
BB checks, MICROPOSTER checks, MP checks.

River: (4.66 BB) 8h (3 players)
BB bets, MICROPOSTER folds, MP calls.

Final Pot: 6.66 BB

I'm pretty new to 6max myself but I really really hate the turn check and the river fold here.

Agreed. I bet that turn.

Yes I think checking is weak. If we get Checkraised or raised I'd fold.

Easy turn value bet.

Microposter seems weak tight.

I hate this hand as well. If I get check-raised, I am folding and I've lost 1 BB. No big deal. Most of the time MHIG and I will get paid off.

The turn check is bad because we missed a value bet and showed weakness, which invited villain to take a shot at us on the river.

The river fold is wretched. We induced a bluff on the turn, and then folded to said bluff. I think microposter folded the best hand about 75% of the time here, at least.

lol. do we know who it is yet.

ps. I agree to bet this turn, but do you always raise this pf against 5 players in 3/6 short?

Haha, that's fair.

I'd say I usually auto-bet this turn. In fact, I've been autobetting the turn after I pfr for about the last 100,000 hands. I actually think it's a leak.

I'm trying to mix things up a bit. However, you're right, when I check the turn here, I should call the river and show my hand down. This is a poorly played hand.

Isn't this one of those cases where the paired board really helps our hand? Turn bet seems standard here.

If you bet the turn, it's not an "autobet" like you would make with UI overs. You are value betting what is probably the best hand at the moment.

Mixing up your play is okay when you're presented with two options that don't differ much in EV. This isn't one of those times. Betting the turn is strictly superior to checking down.
