Just got back from 5 days/4 nights in the Ozarks. What a nice time I had. No poker, but lots of relaxing. The weather was perfect, the food was way over the top. You guys in Missouri got it pretty goot!

Ozarks =! poker content

Or, as Bart Simpson once said, "Branson, Missouri. My dad says it's like Vegas -- if it were run by Ned Flanders."

Anywhere in the Ozarks is nice from what I've seen. Branson...blech. A smudge on an otherwise beautiful landscape.

Branson......the hillbilly Vegas. Lot's of neon, lots of shows, but no nekkid women.

Used to be precious little booze.....except out on the lake....but that has begun to change.

It is beautiful country.....and especially pretty in mid October with the fall colors. However, poker is closer than you think.

Head up to Springfield via 65.....west on I-44 90 miles about 20 miles into Oklahoma to Miami. Cardrooms at Buffalo Run and Quapaw dealing lowlimit poker. Soft games I hear, and a fairly resaonable rake. Also, The Stables may have poker by then also...dunno.

I live in Springfield, but I'm still building bankroll and skills before heading down.

This was a non-poker trip with the wife. Springfield, nice town.

On the way we stopped in Harrison, Arkansas. I was checking into the Holiday Inn Express and asked the toothless chick at the front desk where the nearest bar was located. She said that this was a dry county. "You're shittin' me.", was my response.

So off I went to the "State Line Liquor Store" 19 miles away to buy some booze. Now its late, dark, and Hwy 65 twists and turns like crazy. So naturally I speed along as fast as possible, and thats when Mr. Arkansas State Trooper catches me doing 68 in a 55.

He lets me off with a written warning after catching sight of my American flag and Marine Corps stickers on my back window with a hearty, "Semper Fi."

I can vouch for Quapaw being very soft. Played there about a month ago. Very small room though. I had to play 3-6 for some time till there were enough people to play the 2-5 nl. Great game though. Other Places to play poker in missouri are Kansas City, and St. Louis casino's

Just curious.....you mean Arkansas or Missouri? Springfield has improved somewhat in recent years with growth. It's not all hillbillies here now. /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Had to laugh about the twisty, turning roads comment. Yep, that's the Ozarks. And hard to believe there are still dry counties in the US....welcome to Arkansas.
