Live 10/20. Very passive game, 5-6 limpers to most flops. I've played very few hands and have only shown down two hands: top set and quads. Button is new to the table, but was LAG-ing it up at the 3/6 that I was at earlier (this may be meaningless).

I limp 2/images/graemlins/heart.gif2/images/graemlins/club.gif UTG. Three more limpers, including the button, both blinds come along.

Flop: 8/images/graemlins/club.gif2/images/graemlins/spade.gifJ/images/graemlins/club.gif
I lead, call, call, raise by the button, call, call, I 3-bet, fold, fold, Cap by the button, fold, fold, I call.

Turn: 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif
Bet, call

River: 6/images/graemlins/club.gif
I Bet, button raises, I 3-bet, button 4-bets, I... ? (no cap)

I'm thinking 7-bet and call an 8-bet.

i think he was trying for free card and hit his flush on the river. otherwise he lost alot of value on the turn by only calling. how much does he have left?

This is what I figured when he flat-called the turn and when he raised the river. But when he raised my 3-bet I changed my mind. On the turn I thought that he could have JJ or J8, but figured he would likely have raised preflop with the former and waited until the turn with the latter, given the flop.

Limit game, we both had ~20-30 bets in front of us at this point, so fairly irrelevant.

On the turn I thought that he could have JJ or J8, but figured that he would have raised preflop with JJ and waited until the turn to raise with J8, so I thought a flush draw was most likely given his action on the turn.

When he 4-bet the river I knew I was behind. The dynamic at this table was just such that 3-bets didn't go in with a flush on paired boards. So, if you are the button, how would you have played these hands:

J8
JJ
66
88

I think he did miss a tremendous amount of value by just calling the turn, as I would probably have gone many bets on each street with him. He had quads.

I'm thinking spew.

Is he capping the flop with a flush draw? Is he going 4 bets on the river with it? I think that parlay is really unlikely.

Hmm, OK. The turn just looks retarded to me if he was slowplaying hoping we would make a better hand? I still want to raise one more time.

I'm not saying, whatever he has, that he didn't play the hand retardedly. I just think it indicates FH more than flush.

I 3-bet and make a crying call on the 4th, and when I 3-bet i'd be hoping he flopped the OESFD and that's why he capped.
